easter vs passover (general)

posted by SitGoodBoy, 04.09.2008

Greetings Ray, all,
Easter and Passover have nothing to do with each other. Easter is a non Biblical Church event, celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, and Passover is a Bible Commanded, Jesus Christ Commanded annual feast- kept the day before the Jews keep theirs. how is it a person believes they can rip the wine and bread out of Passover, and discard the day and the meaning God gave to that day: "The death of the Passover Lamb?" Jesus commanded we do this, and what does do this mean? It means do what he did on the day he did it, or where is the authority to change it?

Paul commands we "do this," We keep the reminder of his death. Seems to me Sunday is the opposite. Sunday reminds us he was resurrected, so how can drinking and eating on his resurrection day remind us of his death? Keeping Passover, however, does remind us of Christ's death because Christ died on Passover as our Passover lamb. A perfect day to do as we are commanded.

1 Cor 11:25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till he come.

1 Cor 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

And it is not hard to see that Paul and the Corinthian church were keeping the 14 day of Nisan, as a reminder of the "real" Passover lamb's death.
Since Paul pronounced the very name of the third cup of Passover Wine. The "Cup of Blessing." See

This is very old and proves the name of the "Cup of Blessing was used for
thousands of years by th eJews.

So keeping the Passover on the day the Lambs died, the 14th, is the only remembrance of Jesus death shown in scripture. Any changes come from man.

Robert
