temple mount daniel 9:27 (prophecies)

posted by abrook8(R), 01.03.2008

The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. 27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' [i] In the middle of the 'seven' [j] he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.

Hi abrook8,
Subject: abrook8: 70 weeks of the Daniel Prophecy is different.

What does Daniels 69 week prophecy have to do with the abomination of desolation prophecy?

Well, according my theory Jesus was crucified at the 69th week, and thus we are waiting for the one last week.
Perhaps you need to read the above text, which says "on a wing of the temple he will set up the abomination" (Psssst-it's the same "he" as in the verse before, where that "he" stops the sacrifice.) As for me, I happen to believe that Jesus wont set up the abomination, which what you are saying. How bout you? Thatswhat happens when one leaves out context to form one's pet theory.

The 70th weeks of Daniel Delusion - A prophecy that Jesus already fulfilled.

We at Bible Probe believe that the 70 weeks of the Daniel Prophecy have nothing to do with tribulation and the antichrist. There is no text in the Bible that teaches a 7-year tribulation.

I agree with you! All the Bible states in every single prophet book is that there will be a day of the Lord which will take place during a time of false peace. So my theory is that the final 7 years will start with 3 and 1/2 years of peace and end with 3 and 1/2 years of the antichrist reigning in Israel-and causing the abomination. Daniel 9:27 speaks of nothing to do with an antichrist, a rebuilt Jewish Temple, or even tribulation. Nothing! That's because it is all about Jesus Christ, the Messiah AND the Jewish people. And it does not speak of an Antichrist making or breaking a covenant. It speaks of Jesus Christ confirming the covenant or "the promises made to the fathers (see Romans 15:8 and Galatians 3:17). Jesus said, this is My blood of the new covenant. During His 3.5 years of ministry Jesus was Himself focused on saving "the lost sheep of the house of Israel" (Matthew 10:6).

So these words by Daniel..found in......er.....ahem.......9:27
" and on the wing of the temple he will set up the abomination"..kinda sorta matches what Jesus said above about the end of time.
Jesus: when you see the "abomination that causes desolation" spoken of by Daniel.
Daniel, "the abomination that causes desolation on a wing of the temple."

SAME WORDS SAME EVENT NO?

In that light, your above statement is a little silly dont ya think? That's daniel 9:27 just in case you didn't get it all the way
You see, Jesus said, when you see the abomination STANDING IN THE HOLY PLACE spoken of BY THE PROHET DANIEL, then flee to the mountains. What will a Muslim antichrist do? (PSSST that's why Israel will have to flee so fast) his armies will rape and pillage, which...er...ahem....what every single day of the lord text says will happen to Israel on the day of the Lord: An invasion from the north, which breaks a false peace.......by MUSLIM nations.

for what we (Gentiles) often think strange --that is that the Lord was adamant in His saying basically ---His work was with/for the Jews who were treating him badly, and not for Non-Jews.

Daniel 9:27 says; "He shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease". LOVE THE WAY YOU LEFT OUT THE NEXT SENTENCE! SMMMOOOTH!

We believe that many (especially Evangelicals) have wrongfully applied this somehow to the coming Antichrist, when in reality, Daniel is speaking of Our Lord Jesus Christ. This misinterpretation goes back to erroneous teachings of the Christian Church about the end times --back at least 300 years.
