Colin - reply to your insidious shambles of a post (prophecies)

posted by bibleprobe(R) Homepage, Mass., 11.11.2007

I'd say that just Daniel's exact prophecy of the Abomination of Desolation (being the Dome of the Rock) and the exact year when Israel would become a nation (1948) again as a double check of that prophecy calls your argument that the Bible was written by men and not by God a very weak one. Unless I read you wrong, your real argument is that you think plain men wrote it --similar to the way someone would write a novel... God uses the word "abomination" in the Bible twice. Proof that God is a jealous God. He hates pagan false gods like Allah, and He hates homosexuality --something satan is also influencing people in to. My guess that murdering babies is also high up on His list also.

You couldn't be more wrong! But you were right about only 1 thing. When you wrote: "The true message is one of love and compassion for ALL men".

God inspired about 40 different "men" to write it, over a period of about 1,500 years. He overshadowed them and directed their thoughts. Unlike the Muslim Qur'an, the 66 books of the Bible are made up of multiple threads of unified themes that span cover to cover. It has for its main theme, the true God (Yahweh/Jehovah/I am/Jesus) reaching out to lost souls by coming to earth Himself as the promised Jewish Messiah.

Many people used to think perhaps the bible stories were just stories. I don't think that many if any at all, real thinking, educated people, think that at all now. After all, archeology is encovering evidence for just about all the Israeli kings who "people" thought were myths. Chariot wheels from the era of the Exodus were even found in the Red Sea. Revelation has symbols and allegories. But we all know that. And contrary to what you think, Revelation is also a true story of the future and past.

Unlike the Islamic god (with a little "g") who insists his followers kill or enslave anyone who is not a Muslim, the true Creator God of Israel who has foretold the future, is a God of love. If you reject Him as Muslims do, He will reject them. Muslims rejected His Son and His Son's Gospel; and they even go so far as telling lies about Him. They say He never even died on a cross. So, you see --we are not talking about the same God who does have a Son who loves Him dearly. Daniel's prophecy proves that the true God views Islam as a blasphemous pagan religion which He will have nothing to do with. Have the words "abomination of desolation" sunk in? Can you see how insidious that is? Can you see where bypassing the cross and the salvation that was made possible by the cross leads to? It's my contention, and that of many others, that Muhammad was led by satan to lead people away from the cross on a one way ticket to Hell. I am not preaching hatred here. I am telling the truth! Do with truth what you like... The true God awaits the return of good Muslims to Him. He has provided the way (His Son Jesus).

Many of the bible "stories" that you may be confusing with hate are actually historic retellings only. There was one in particular you may be confusing with hate. God did tell the early Hebrews to wipe every living thing out of the land of Canaan when they arrived. But as it turned out the Jews/Hebrews disobeyed Him in that - something that may have come back and bit them continuously throughout their history. God told the Hebrews to do that because He knew that the inhabitants of Canaan, like the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah and those in Noah's day were contaminated with pagan gods. These pagan gods are fallen angels who masquerade as God --such as Allah does. That's love for his Chosen people. That's not hatred.

Colin - you wrote "What do you know about how god killed someone or a group of people." Are we talking about the plains cities of Sodom and Gomorrah? Or, about how God killed armies who attacked the "apple of His Eye - the Jews". I assure you God will take care of Israel's enemies again in the future. If it is about God wiping out the hedonistic pagan cities of Sodom and Gomorrah? If I were a liberal Democrat, I'd worry about that. All Americans have to worry about this. Considering how the Democrats have pushed their liberalism to the limits. Has anyone explained the over 1.5 million ancient well fed bodies found buried where Sodom & Gomorrah was?

Sodom & Gomorrah was not a story about inhospitable people against God's angels as the homosexual "agenda" is trying to "sell". It is a true story about God destroying cities in the Dead Sea area of Israel because people there had sunk to the same levels of ungodly, indecent, defiling, selfish, lustful, perverted sexual behavior as did the people in Noah's time. The homosexual agenda and perverted lifestyle is a parallel to that same godlessness.

If Sodom & Gomorrah is a myth, atheist scientists and archeologists need to explain the more than 1,500,000 bodies found buried in vertical shafts, inside 3 ancient cemeteries there. Also, where did the millions of round balls of nearly pure sulfur (brimstone) found there come from? The area is now a hot, barren desert. If it were not well watered before the destruction as the Bible says - how could the area have supported well over a million well fed people?

As to your "bible inconsistencies" in Google comment. Consider the "Dark side". How many of these Google posts are by people with their own agendas. Give me an example and we'll refute it in here. Many of what people call inconsistency is simply the fact that they don't yet have all the facts... Or, that they are not theologically educated. I may be wrong.

Whenever I see a post such as yours I immediately suspect you aren't who you want people to think you are. You may not even be a Christian; and your name may not even be Colin.

You wrote: "there are so man variations on just about every story in the bible". Of course you aren't talking about the Old Testament, as there is no variation there on any of the true bible stories. So you must be talking about the New Testament. Let me ask you. If 4 different people would tell a true story today, would this telling be exact in all the details? If they were, wouldn't you suspect fraud, collusion and perhaps plagiarism? The 4 Gospel writers told what they knew or witnessed. All the essential elements agree. The same message of God coming to earth because of His love for us --comes through in all 4 separate testimonies. You can even wrangle over whether Judas hanged himself of gashed himself on the rocks. But you really don't know if he did both. Do you? You can go on and on comparing lineages in the gospels. But even these have yet to be proven wrong, as written.
