I Lost My Precious Mother On Mother's Day: Overwhelmed With Grief & Sorrow (martyrs)

posted by fezik82(R), Ohio, 12.28.2016

If the apostle Paul had died years earlier, he would have died a persecutor of God's Church. He gave him a vision which saved him, and a mission for others to receive that same salvation. He did not die before his work was finished. I am convinced that some who live long, sinful lives only have that opportunity so that they have more opportunity to repent, God wants each of us to be saved. Paul suffered much tribulation, all of the apostles did. This was not due to lack of faith. These trials are described as somewhat of a seal upon Christians, He will not allow more to come upon you than that which you can bare... He trusts in you to seek Him, He knows that your faith will guide you through this. James said that we must consider our many trials as "pure joy" (1:2), that you are blessed for enduring trials and will therefore receive the crown of life (1:12). Peter wrote that the trials are allowed so that your faith will result in praise, glory, and honor (1 Peter 1:6-7), trials make you partners with Christ in His suffering so that you will see His glory (1 Peter 4:13). Faith isn't always easy, these trials encourage us to search deeper and most often reveal other facet's of God.

The man that I used to care for was a medical wreck. He suffered numerous afflictions and one day while he was sitting in a wheelchair at the hospital waiting to be seen for a problem with his kidneys, his heart stopped for nearly two minutes. What stood out to me from his description of what he went through in these two minutes was the description of this "capsule" (as he called it) and the sadness that he felt when he knew that he had to come back to it. The body is still subject to infirmities, our promise was not that our body would not die, the verses that you offered said nothing of the sort. Our promise was to be raised from death... that we will live, *although we die* (John 11:25).

Depending on your motivation for your deeds, your good works are a result of your love of God. You are not under the law, as long as you are led by the Spirit (Galatians 5:13-6:18). The Spirit will lead you to abandon the passions of the flesh. Never stop striving to please God.

I asked The Lord how much He loved me

He stretched out His arms and said, "this much"

Then He died for me
