Message to Fezik (general)

What Martha did that was wrong was she worried about the desires of the flesh while she should have been spending time with Christ. You kind of set my case with that point. I have described to you what I believe "works" are enough times that a reasonable person could grasp my understanding well, though accepting it may be another story. What Martha was doing was not necessarily criticized because she was trying to serve her fellow man, this would conflict with other teachings of His (Matthew 25:40; cf. Hebrews 6:10). She was criticized because she spent time worrying about throwing the perfect party rather than at Christ's feet worshiping with her sister. He was only with them for a short time, yet she did not spend that time with Him. My argument against Joseph Prince is that he, like Martha, is so concerned about material possessions and fleshly desires that he is missing his time with Christ. I am trying to rebuild my life right now. I sometimes get caught up in how I'm going to decorate the kids room, or finding the perfect frying pan... I'm human, I get caught away too. I have learned that while I am busy trying to do all of these things that in the grand scheme of things really don't matter, I take that time away from God. I lose focus, that's what material possessions do to us. For many of us it can be a struggle to keep our focus on the right things even when we're conscientious about staying on the right track.. which makes it all the more detrimental that we stay away from teachings which set us on the wrong track.

It never ceases to amaze me the things that you will say simply to contradict me. I imagine that you did not mean to suggest that we are not to serve God? Perhaps you are clouded by Joseph Prince and his promises of money and other physical fortunes:

Matthew 6:24“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Joseph Prince's "message of grace" presents precisely what you and others of a more 'feel good' generation want to hear. His message is that "grace" contradicts "law" which defies both the dictionary and the Bible. There is no "reaping" or "sowing" in Joseph Prince's message.

The food and drink in the verses that you cited is the Lamb. When I wrote that there is no food or drink, I was referring to the food that satisfies physical hunger.

I asked The Lord how much He loved me

He stretched out His arms and said, "this much"

Then He died for me
