SDA's you are wrong! Saturday Sabbath & 10 Commandments are for Jews (Gospel of Jesus)

posted by bibleprobe(R) Homepage, Mass., 12.30.2014

This isn't that tough of a subject when you first realize that Jesus was sent (His main focus) to save the Lost Sheep of Israel. Over the course of time, the Children of Israel had grown hardened and indifferent to the things of God. Up until His ascent back into Heaven, what we read in the New Testament is Jesus directing his ministry/focus and is speaking to the Jews. After the Jews rejected their own Messiah, the 'mission' expanded to all mankind. The Acts of the Apostles & teachings of the early church fathers (some who were taught directly by the apostles) clearly show this. Yet Seventh Day Adventist's (SDA's) and some other splinter groups will call the Acts of the Apostles as 'traditions of men' because they conflict with their incorrect teachings on things such as Saturday Sabbath and Infant Baptism, etc..

But he answered, and said, I am not sent, but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Matthew 15:24

And yes, you will often see me repost these same IMPORTANT threads over & over (in the past 15 years) because of their importance. Among those I find most important are: Christians are set free from the Old Testament Law, including Saturday Sabbaths; the apostles baptized entire households, including Infants; Abortion; Homosexuality; Our need to defend Israel; and the evils of Freemasonry and Islam. Often I'll repost these topics when I get sufficient emails about these topics. My hobby gets posted by me here a lot. I continually research into natural cures for things such as Cancer, and many other diseases. I put high priority on research done my MD Doctors who also study & research natural cures.

To the Lost Sheep of Israel was our Lord & Savior's 'mission'. It wasn't to the Gentiles. That came later from God, via the apostles and -- especially Peter & Paul after the Jews rejected their own Messiah - whom they'll recognize the 2nd time. So, what you read in the New Testament about Jesus speaking to the Jews is just that - it was meant for the Jews. Jesus says to the Jews He didn't come to abolish the Law (Old Testament Law of Moses). And He didn't. How could He? Jesus was an observant Jew Himself. But, as God, yes He could abolish the Old Testament Laws. Likely, the Jews still needed the Old Testaments Laws after their rejection of their Messiah. Their rejection included the loss of the new freedom from the Law of Moses, that their Savior could have given them. It was after all the Son of God - the Word of God who the Jews received their ancient laws from on Mt Sinai and via Moses (The Law Giver - not the Law Maker) in the first place.

REMEMBER: Jesus told us at no time has anyone seen the Father (except Him). So it was the Son of God, the Word of God (the Logos) that Moses saw.

John 6:46 KJV:
Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

Exodus 24:9-11

9 Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up 10 and saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of lapis lazuli, as bright blue as the sky. 11 But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and drank.

Then comes the rejection by the Jews of their own Messiah, and things change. Salvation is then offered to the Jews AND all of mankind who trust and believe in Him.

Christian believers are grafted into the Jewish Family tree, but in a different way which Paul the apostles and all the early church fathers tell us - that those who believe and trust in Jesus are now under a new Law, and no longer under the Law of Moses. The new Law is Freedom and liberty in Christ who set us free from the Old Testament Law which was given to the nation of Israel.

This Old Testament Law was never given to the Gentiles, nor was it given to the Church. The Law of Moses was nailed to the Cross (Colossians 2:14). The death of Jesus inaugurated a New Covenant - a covenant written on the heart (Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Hebrews 9:15). In His teaching, Jesus emphasized nine of the Ten Commandments and expanded them in scope to apply to our thoughts as well as our actions (Matthew 5-7). He never commanded the Church to observe the Sabbath.

Remember, the Law of Moses is a very tough one. If you mess up even one you are deserving of damnation. It could be as simple as doing work on Saturday. Turning on a light bulb could be considered work. These are the 'legalities' Jesus showed us He was against. Remember, Jesus made the point by continuously doing the work of God on the Saturday Sabbath.

So what a marvelous thing Jesus did for us. His yoke is an easy one for those who believe, trust, sincerely ask for forgiveness - and follow Him - there is forgiveness of our Sins and with that His promise of everlasting Life.

(3) "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

St. Paul the Apostle wrote a stirring letter to the churches of Galatia. His letter had to do with the freedom from the laws of Moses and liberty in Christ. He talked a lot about how Jesus had come to make us right with God through faith. "For Freedom Christ has set us free." (Gal. 5:1) The law, rules and regulations no longer bind us. Our faith in Jesus justifies us. Included in chapter 5 of this liberating letter is a little known but crucial verse, "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision or uncircumcision is of any avail, but faith made effective through love." (Gal. 5:6)"

Colossians 2-14:
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Ephesians 2-15:
Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

To give the children of Israel the Sabbath as the permanent sign of this covenant [Exodus 31:12-17]

To preach that the Saturday Sabbath is for Christians is to preach that the Lord's Sacrifice on the cross did not make us free from the legalities of the Old Testament Law. "IF RIGHTEOUSNESS COULD BE GAINED THROUGH [KEEPING] THE LAW, CHRIST DIED FOR NOTHING!" (Gal. 2:21)
