Understanding Putin. Behind the Russian Rage... (general)

posted by bibleprobe(R) Homepage, Mass., 03.29.2014

My personal opinion is that there is a U.S. 'Traitor in the White House'.

Congress needs to wake up, get a grip, and see what Obama is up to - and then stop him. Cut off his funding to start.

It has been reported that Obama has sent advanced state-of-the-art weapons directly to Al-Qaeda affiliates in Egypt, Libya and Syria - which one day will surely be used to shoot down American planes, and used against America in other ways and places. Let's not forget that Obama backed the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, and with Hillary Clinton - left a U.S. Ambassador and Navy Seals to die in Libya. Obama's latest 'War' against Russia is almost certain to backfire on him, the U.S. and our allies. In short, Obama is busy arming America's enemies, bankrupting us, and picking big fights - hoping that nobody will notice what he is up to. The last thing we need right now is another 'Cold War' with Russia.

Article 3, Section 3 of the Constitution of the United States of America defines Treason as ...

“levying war ...”

“adhering” to the enemies of the United States, or

“giving aid and comfort” to enemies of the United States.

That's my opinion. /s/ Steve @ BibleProbe.com

Behind the Russian Rage
Pat Buchanan | Mar 28, 2014

As the old saying goes, you cannot truly understand a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes.

Perhaps Americans, a fortunate tribe, should try to see the world from the vantage point of the Russian people and Vladimir Putin, and, as the poet Robert Burns said, "see ourselves as others see us."

At 35, Putin was a rising star in the elite secret police, the KGB, of a superpower with a worldwide empire.

The USSR was almost three times as large as the United States. Its European quadrant was half of the Old Continent. The Soviet Empire extended from the Elbe River in Central Germany to the Bering Strait across from Alaska. It encompassed thirteen time zones.

North to south, the USSR reached from above the Arctic Circle down to the Middle East. Beyond the contiguous empire were Soviet bases from Cam Ranh Bay in Vietnam to Tartus in Syria to Cienfuegos in Cuba.

Consider, then, what the last dozen years of the 20th century must have been like for proud Russian patriots and nationalists.

First, the European empire suddenly and wholly collapsed. East Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Rumania, Bulgaria all broke away to join the West. The Red Army came home, undefeated, but also unwanted and even detested.

The Warsaw Pact, the rival to NATO, dissolved.

Meanwhile in Syria: Obama to Give Rebels Air Defense Support?
Posted March 28, 2014
Katie Pavlich | Mar 28, 2014

Today as President Obama visits with officials in neighboring Saudi Arabia, talks about how to handle the crisis are back on the table and include the Obama administration potentially approving air defense systems for rebels fighting the Assad regime.

The Obama administration is considering allowing shipments of new air defense systems to Syrian rebels, reversing its earlier opposition to introducing the weaponry into the conflict, a U.S. official said.

President Barack Obama's possible shift would likely be welcomed by Saudi Arabia, which has been pressing the White House to allow the man-portable air-defense systems, known as "manpads," into Syria. Obama arrived in Saudi Arabia on Friday evening for meetings with King Abdullah.

TRAIL OF TERROR
Boehner covering for Obama ... or for himself?
GOP's inaction on Benghazi brings accusations back on speaker
08/05/2013

Over the weekend, former Democrat pollster Patrick Caddell and former Republican Congressman John LeBoutillier, co-hosts of the Fox News Channel’s “Political Insiders,” suggested Boehner may indeed be involved in a “cover-up.”

“John Boehner [has] been purposefully suppressing anything on Benghazi because he knew what we found out this week, and he approved it,” Caddell speculated. “These CIA teams on the ground [were] sending weapons from Libya through Turkey to Syrian rebels without congressional approval.”

Indeed, CNN reported this past week that the CIA had dozens of people in Benghazi on the night of the attack and that the agency has gone to “unprecedented” lengths to make sure what they were doing there remains a secret.

Al Qaeda Using Syria as a Staging Area for Attacks on the West
Posted March 26, 2014

While President Obama continues to address power grabs by Russia through an "international community" lens, Russian supported Syria is being invaded by al Qaeda fighters who are setting up bases from which they can attack western targets.
Katie Pavlich | Mar 26, 2014

"Al Qaeda is on the run," President Barack Obama repeatedly said in 2012 during his presidential campaign against Mitt Romney. "Al Qaeda has been decimated."

While President Obama continues to address power grabs by Russia through an "international community" lens, Russian supported Syria is being invaded by al Qaeda fighters who are setting up bases from which they can attack western targets.

Dozens of seasoned militant fighters, including some midlevel planners, have traveled to Syria from Pakistan in recent months in what American intelligence and counterterrorism officials fear is an effort to lay the foundation for future strikes against Europe and the United States.

For all the weapons currently in use in the Syrian war, few are American made. It’s emblematic of strict U.S. control over the manufacture and distribution of weapons of war. But the recent appearance on YouTube of a uniquely American anti-tank missile being launched by a moderate rebel group fighting the government of President Bashar Assad in Syria has fostered speculation that the U.S. or its allies may have finally started arming the rebels. For months, U.S. security officials have leaked information to journalists about the supply of light arms to moderate rebels in Syria’s southern areas, and congressional approval for further deliveries through September. This is possibly the first evidence of the American armaments in use in Syria, though their appearance in the northern province of Idlib, far from the U.S. approved rebel group’s area of operations is a disconcerting development. So far only three instances of the BGM-71 TOW anti-tank guided missile in rebel use have appeared on social media sites coming out of Syria, so it’s impossible to know how widespread the weapon’s distribution is, or if its just a one-off. Still, it raises questions about whether or not such weapons would even make a difference in a war that is nearing unshakable stalemate.

“It’s potentially a very significant development. These missiles have not been seen before in Syria,” says Charles Lister, a specialist on the Syrian conflict and a visiting fellow at the Brookings Doha Center think tank, who first wrote about the missiles in IHS Jane’s Defense Weekly. Even if the weapons were passed to the rebels from a government that bought them legitimately from the U.S., strict regulations apply to their transfer. “Even if country like Saudi had decided to send these to the rebels, technically the U.S., and [President] Obama would have known about it and given its blessing,” says Lister.
